31 Retief Street, Potchefstroom

South Africa

has some of the highest incidences of child and baby rape in the world with more than 67,000 cases of rape and sexual assaults against children.

Welfare groups believe that the number of unreported incidents could be up to 10 times that number. The largest increase in attacks was against children under seven.

Childline is an effective non-profit organization that works collectively to protect children from all forms of violence and to create a culture of children's rights in South Africa.

Childline North West operates a 24/7 crisis line for children in distress

due to sexual abuse or domestic violence. We need assistance for the volunteers who man these lines.

We also need assistance for OVC. Sometimes children are taken away from their circumstances and are usually stripped of everything (their dignity, their loved ones and even their underwear - the most intimate part of their clothing). We offer them a box of hope for speedy recovery and something to cling to. These boxes contain the most basic needs for them to cope.
